The Breakdown…

So, with the intro out of the way, let’s dive into today’s episode.

Here are the questions we asked Croix, and a quick summary of his answers:

If you had to pick just ONE thing you are THANKFUL for along your journey…what or who, would that be?

The most gratitude that Croix had in that moment was for his two kids, they pushed him to become a better dad and person.

We liked how present was Croix with the teaching he was giving his kids and vice versa.

We thought about the examples we are giving to our own kids, and also how we can use them as motivation when we want to give up.

Why did you want to go through the world record?

Croix told the story about looking through the Guinness Book of Records when he was young and wondering if he could be in that book.

Brenda thought about how her youngest loves that same books and wondered whether it would inspire her to do great things.

Looking back over your journey, did you ever get to the point of quitting or giving up?

He trained for an entire year to run death valley. But he was feeling really unwell at Mile 6 and actually quit. But two days later he went back to go and try and won the race.

We felt for him that he was devastated at quitting but not being OK with quitting and really giving it another go. It was very inspiring.

The story of the butterfly

We were moved by the story of the butterfly which Croix saw as the spirit of his brother who passed away. We’re always supported.

What mindsets and beliefs have you adopted that have served you well?

Champions are made when doing the things that no one sees.

He knows he can do it and he commits that when he is going to do a race ‘he would finish or die.’

When you start moving nothing can stop you. It does get easier as long as you have that total commitment.

Petty things can’t stop you.

Most of the time we get in our own way, and a lot of times life will get in the way. But if you have 100% belief in yourself, you may be annoyed, but you will get through it.

You have to have the mindset that nothing can stop you. Hell or high water you will make it work.

What is one specific thing or big breakthrough you can attribute to achieving your amazing results in your business?

Croix talked about a strong work ethic that was instilled when he was a child.

We sometimes think its going to be easy but success does take work. It takes 10 years to be ‘an overnight success’.

Pre-internet people knew that starting a business was a 3-5 year plan. But post internet people now expect that success is so much easier because of various tech start ups hitting it big.

Hard worth ethic is super important but you can also work smart.

Anything worthwhile comes with its own challenges. But the secret sauce is to look forward to those challenges and opportunities to learn.

What motivated you to keep on running?

Croix mused that it was never about the running the world record but actually about living to his potential.

By pushing himself and running it elevates him to his best life.

If you can do that there you can do it in other areas.

Overall its about living to your full potential.

He then took the strategies and tools he took in running to business. He realised that business is a marathon each day.

There were plenty of days he didn’t feel like running a marathon. And business can be the same. And in those moments you have to remember your commitment to finish.

What are your morning rituals?

He broke his morning down to doing a 3 mile run. He takes a shower, has a veggie shake and gets started.

He like staying single minded and single focused and doing one thing at a time. And doing it the best that he can.

You need to have a morning routine. And you need to attend to yourself first.

How to you get focused?

When the work is inspired the need for focus isn’t great. But when you’re not inspired its harder.

When he’s not inspired he then looks for Youtube videos that will inspire him.

Because in the end it’s all mindset.

Consider taking away things that you really struggle with and that take you out of flow.

You can get very specific with the type of inspiration you want from youtube simply by searching on it.

Parting piece of advice for our listeners, to help them achieve the results they are looking for.

Ask the question ‘Is what you’re doing going to matter long term’ – If you can answer yes to it then that’s what you want to do.
