Weekly Roundup #10: Episodes 67 – 72

Episode #067: Interview: Tim Erway

Summary:

In this episode, Brenda and I interview serial entrepreneur and CEO of Magnetic Sponsoring to find out how he was able to go from nearly homeless to running a multi-million dollar business in just a few years. You’ll learn about the habits, beliefs, and skill sets that made that possible.

Main Takeaway:

Results are everything. Results always follow mindset. Results always follow belief and desire, so foster that belief and desire within yourself. Results also come from focusing on goals and taking strategic action, so do that. Results also come from creating value, so do that also.

Episode #068: How To Increase Sales By Telling More Stories

Summary: Facts tell, stories sell… In today’s episode, I’m going to expand on that little 4 word phrase, because it’s POWERFUL! Think about WHY people invest in solutions… (because they believe that the solution can help them overcome a problem they have or accomplish a specific outcome) The key word in that last sentence is BELIEVE. Without that belief, they will NOT invest… period. So learning how to create (or alter) people’s beliefs about something is a POWERFUL skill. That’s what this episode is all about.

Main Takeaways:

Just like with anything else, practice makes perfect.

But other than just telling more stories, here are 3 things you can do that will help you get better, faster…

  1. listen to other presenters on stage or on webinars (they use stories to sell)
  2. look for similarities in how they tell their stories
  3. make sure you understand the points that you are trying to make in your sales presentations… then start paying attention to things that happen to you in daily life and when you notice an opportunity to make one of your points – jot that down.

The more you do this the easier it will become.

And the more stories you tell the more effective your presentations will become.

Remember this rule…

Stories create belief.

Beliefs are what sell product.

Action Step(s):

  • read through the list of benefits that your product or service offers (write them down if you don’t already have them written down somewhere)
  • make notes of any stories you can tell to relay the experience of those benefits
  • add in the stories to your sales presentation and see what happens

Episode #069: The Webinar Perfection Process Explained

Summary: In this episode you are going to learn the biggest secret to creating high converting webinars. The secret that the gurus aren’t talking about. This one secret (if internalized) will forever change the way you think about creating webinars. I know that’s a big statement, but stick with me… I can explain.

Main Takeaway: What’s the secret? The webinar perfection process What is the perfection process? It’s a period of time when you are perfecting your already complete webinar. Why it’s important? Because regardless of how many webinars you’ve created before, it’s very unlikely that you will create one right out of the gate that is perfect.

Episode #071: Facts Tell, Stories Sell

Summary: Facts tell, stories sell. I talked about this briefly in episode 68, but in this episode I want to go deeper on this subject to drive the point home even further. After digging further into this topic after episode 68 aired, I found a great article by Daniel Levis over on the NicheProfitClassroom blog. (click here for a direct link to that full article) The article outlines 11 reasons that you should be using stories in your sales presentations.

Main Takeaway: You should be telling stories that share your personal experience with the products you are promoting… stories that demonstrate how existing customers benefited from what you are offering prospective ones… stories that help your prospects to get to know you and trust you… even imaginary tales that help them to visualize what their lives will be like after buying what you’re selling or promoting. There’s no better way to make a human connection and communicate the features, advantages and benefits of doing business with you than by telling a good story.

Episode #072: How To Attract A New Audience That Will Engage With You

Summary: In this episode Brenda and I are answering more of YOUR biggest questions. Today’s question comes from Greg Dickson of Gateway Wellness Center, and it’s all about “How To Attract A New Audience That Will Engage With You” … The question:

“How do you break through the obscurity of no customers, no awareness, no brand, nothing. How do you get known? how do you get noticed? how do you engage people? how do you create a presence that is compelling that breaks through the noise and captures your customers imagination and gets them to engage with them?”

Main Takeaway: Make sure your mindset is right. Set the intention to do the specific actions you need to do in order to accomplish a specific objective. Then pay attention to the feedback you get from your audience and adjust according to that.

  • Write down the specific objective you want to accomplish
  • outline your strategy for executing
  • show up daily and execute your plan
