With that said …let’s get into our 13th weekly roundup.

Weekly Roundup #13: Episodes 88 – 93

Episode #088: Interview: Croix Sather

Summary:

This interview was awesome! Croix is a world record holder, and the story he tells during our time together will capture your mind and heart… We talk about the good times as well as the bad, including the time when he actually QUIT while in the middle of trying to capture the world record…and then went back 3 days later to SMASH it by running through death valley over 6 hours faster than ANYONE had ever done it before in recorded history.

Main Takeaway:

Stay focused on what you want, and know that you can achieve anything in life you want to achieve… no matter how un-achievable it may seem right now…As long as you never quit (for good) you will get there. When you start a race, you make the commitment to yourself that it’s finish the race or die. oh, and do things that matter now, and in the future.

Action Step(s):

  • Reflect on the commitments you have made in your business
  • Are there any that you are behind on? (it’s ok…i’m about to show you how to fix it)
  • Jot them down and put them in front of you (the ones you are behind on)
  • The next possible chance you have, eliminate ALL distractions for 44 minutes straight
  • Click here to listen to the entire interview (even if you’ve already listened once)
  • Make the decision to yourself…your true self…the one that’s really in control of what life looks like…make the decision to eliminate the ones that are non essential (I recommend reading essentialism the disciplined pursuit of less greg mckeown) and re-committing to the rest by the time the interview is over.

Episode #089: How To Create TRUE Fans

Summary:

A True Fan is defined as someone who will purchase anything and everything you produce. They will drive 200 miles to see you sing. They will buy the super deluxe re-issued hi-res box set of your stuff even though they have the low-res version. They have a Google Alert set for your name. They bookmark the eBay page where your out-of-print editions show up. They come to your openings. They have you sign their copies. They buy the t-shirt, and the mug, and the hat. They can’t wait till you issue your next work. They are true fans.

In this episode we walk you through the beginning steps of how to create true fans in your own business.

Main Takeaways:

The starting point to creating true fans is to add true value.

The best way to add true value is to address SPECIFIC problems, challenges, or concerns of your prospects and help them move past them. Give them actionable solutions.

This alone doesn’t create a true fan, however, it’s part of the formula. Do this for enough people and a certain percentage of them WILL convert into true fans. (assuming you are consistent with your value)

Action Step(s):

  • Identify problems/challenges/concerns…
  • help them.
  • Jot down at least one thing that you are committed to implementing in your business.

Episode #090: 5 Platforms That Will Help You Grow Your Audience

Summary:

Everyone talks about picking one platform and staying there. But we actually suggest, in the beginning, to at least know what your options are and what they are about. Try starting on one platform to see what its like. It’s probably better, however, to play around on a couple of platforms, see which one you like, then focus on that one and stay there for a while. This episode is basically a semi in depth look (nothing crazy) at 5 …possibly 6… of our favorite platforms.

Main Takeaway:

The platforms that are right for you will ultimately depend on your customers anyway… Pay attention to what platforms they are using, and how they are using them. As a business owner, that tells you everything you need to know (at least to get started) in terms of what platforms to be on, and how to use them… Go where they are, and communicate to them in the language they communicate with on that platform. (snap stories, tweets, pictures, quotes, audios, videos, etc…you get my point)

Action Step(s):

  • Ask yourself: What am I good at? What are my personality strengths?
  • Depending on your strengths, you might want to focus on one platform at a time to get better results.
  • Choose which platform(s) you will start with.
  • Play and connect with leaders in the space.

Episode #091: Croix Sather – #513Insights

Summary:

In this episode Brenda and I talk back through the questions we asked Croix on Monday’s show (EP 88) … Normally since quite some time has passed between the recording of these interviews and the release of them (we had lots in the bank) Brenda goes back through to listen to them as a refresher before we do our insights call…so you can have the most up to date insights, and to remind her of what we talked about specifically. This time when I asked her if she had listened to the recording for the insights call she replied “oh, I didn’t need to for this one…”

Main Takeaway:

There were several takeaways from this interview… The primary takeaway for me is just the reminder that there are areas in my life and business where I’m not living up to the commitment i made when I began… So its “inspired” me to bring those commitments back to the surface and either eliminate them or recommit… (following the principles taught in essentialism)

Action Step(s):

Episode #092: The 5 Business GAME CHANGERS (Lesson 3 of 5)

Summary:

I’ve been in this business for 8 years, and during that time I’ve been incredibly blessed. I’ve grown 2 businesses from scratch to over $1Million in sales. I’m currently working on my 3rd. (I don’t tell you that to brag, i tell you that to let you know that I know what I’m doing…at least to some degree) I’ve learned countless lessons on my journey as an entrepreneur. I was recently thinking about many of those lessons, and thought it would be cool to share with you the 5 that have had the biggest impact on my life and business. I call ’em GAME CHANGERS! So this episode (92) is where I teach lesson #3 of 5 that have served me the best over the years… (warning, the audio did get a little fuzzy on this one…but bear with it because the lesson is what’s most important)

Main Takeaway:

Your mind is like google on steroids. Whatever information you request of it can be recalled in an instant. For example what was your kindergarten teacher’s name?

The answer just seems to spring out of nowhere. From deep within your subconscious mind, with all the resources you possess, the answer to that question was identified, brought to the surface, and given to you, all within a fraction of a second.

This is one of the most powerful mechanics of your mind.

It’s called the Mind’s Automatic Recall Machine, or MARM, for short.

The problem with your MARM is that it is unable to discern the difference between good and not so good. So when you need/request something from your unconscious mind, your MARM will sometimes bring up old fears, limiting beliefs, or unwanted resources from the past – that don’t serve you today.

That’s when you have the opportunity to be either reactive or proactive. Thats what episode 92 is about.

Action Step(s):

  • Follow the 3-step process covered in episode 92 to re-train your MARM to stop being reactive.
  • Tune in next Friday for part 4 (how to train your brain to be automatically proactive)
  • Read the original post on this topic here.

Episode #093: 5 Things Every Website MUST Have

Summary:

In this episode we talk about the 3 different types of websites that we use in our business… (we don’t teach what we don’t personally experience) A Capture page, a sales page, and a brochure page. We talk about the difference in the three, and then we break down the 5 things that every ‘brochure’ type of website must have to be most effective.

Main Takeaway:

We need to follow our own advice in this situation, because at the time of this live recording we do not even have all 5 of these important things implemented into our brochure site… Depending on when you are listening to this in the future, we may already have all 5 of these things completely integrated into our site nicely. But at the time of this recording we do not… (just another reminder that you don’t have to get it right…you just have to get it going) If we are slaking, shoot me an email and call me out…

Action Step(s):

Many people like to work on their About page first, then move on to their giveaway, and go from there. Just make sure you have these five things in place when you’re done building your blog, and you will definitely be heading in the right direction to get the Results you want. The key is to start…NOW!
